My three year old will not potty train! She refuses!I'll have her potty trained for a couple of weeks, boom back to square one. She's peeing in her potty pants again. We've been on this back and forth thing now a year.Bribes don't work. She started being potty trained as soon as she turned two.Poop, pee, she did it all.For like a month and went back to diapers.I'm so lost!I don't know if I should force it or let it take its course.Madi is very independent, and can be very controlling in what she wants to do.Not only that it seems like a constant battle because she's always sick.Today is 7 days since she pooped. The constant constipation makes her hurt and she hates to sit on the potty when it hurts so bad.Grrr...can this be more simple?I don't know what to do.Wait till she's 4 then push it? She did everything else early. She teethed at 4 months, had almost all her teeth in by 1, she said her first word at 6 months, she ate people food at 9 months. What do I do? Nothing works!

Yes I've had her in the Dr. She's holding in her poop. The dr says it's all in her head. she's on a laxative everyday but she still holds it in. It's amazing when she poops it's monstrous. You would think she'd just let it out.

As hard as it is, leave her alone. Ignore the whole potty thing. I promise, she will not wear diapers to college. It sounds like she's kind of having a power struggle with you. Guess who's winning. That is the only thing in her world that she can completely control. I'm a mom of 4 so I've been there. With my girls (11 & 4), I pushed and pushed and went back and forth between diapers and big girl panties. Finally, I quit doing it and within 2 months they did it themselves. Leave the potty chair accessible to her, but don't mention it. Let her know that "when she's ready to be a big girl" she can have a new toy, or go someplace special or some other reward, but leave it at that. She will do it, don't be discouraged. Good luck.

If she hasn't done for seven days she needs an Enema immediately. After that I suggest you put her on a regime where you make sure she consumes plenty of fibrous foods and is placed on the toilet several times a day. And she automatically gets a suppository if she doesn't do caca for three days. That should motivate her to start eliminating like an adult.

Get some Smarties candy and keep it in the bathroom where she can't reach it. Show it to her, and tell her every time she goes where she is supposed to go she may have a piece of candy.

She's just not ready. Keep at it. It will come slowly, don't give up and try to be patient.

Wow thats tough. You can try and change some of her favorite things, tell her that they are for big girls and that big girls go potty. That is what I with my son. He wantd big boy undies like his brother. I told him no, big boys go poty and wear big boy undies. That worked for him. And the fact that he couldn't have big boy toys either. Good luck!!

Get a few easily cleanable books and toys that she can only use while sitting on the potty. That should get her interested in staying there.

Get rid of the training pants they are just like diapers and they will go back to using them when they have them on. Just take plenty of changes of cloths any where you go and be patient.
You may want to talk to doctor about constpation and keep trying she will get it but do not get mad when she makes mistakes. she will do it.

Well, I don't have any kids of my own, but I helped train my little brother. He was about 3 yrs old. My mom was having a hard time getting him to use the potty. We made it into a game. It's kinda funny actually- my mom, sister, brother and I made a song "Go pee pee in the potty" and we danced around the table. We just kept singing that song then puttting him on the toilet. It worked for him, and I have fond memories still makes me lol.

My daughter will be 3 in 12 days and she's really smart and manipulative and won't potty train. She tells me that she is a baby and wants to go poo in her diaper not the potty chair like a big girl. My daughter used to make herself constipated because she didn't want to potty train. Give your daughter a spoonful of mineral oil (kept in the fridge to make it sweet) every night so she doesn't get to backed up. You might want to try prune juice, raisins, and maybe even an enema (or suppository) since it's been 7 days. Good luck! I need luck too!
