i'm gonna buy a 32 in samsung hdtv but i don't have the money to purchase an hdtv programming package from comcast. is it worth it to just watch standard definition programs on the tv along with xbox 360 and dvds?? thanks alot, john

we have an hdtv without hd programs...it works fine. it's also a 36' flat screen. so no worries. you'll be fine with sd.

I get about 7 channels with 'Basic' service. Standard network channels in HD are usually included.

Depends on what size you plan on getting. Anything bigger than 32" and regular programming will look worse on an HD TV than it would on a regular SD TV.

Also, double check with Comcast, depending on your package, HD is already included...otherwise, i think it is only $7 a month, including DVR rental.

We bought our HD TV primarily for PS3 gaming, Blu-Ray and becuase the PS3 upscales DVD's to HD...unfortunately, the 360 does not do this.
