I don't hang out in R&S much, but just recently I heard about ceiling cat. I googled, it's funny, but I'm curious about its origins and deeper meaning - if there is one.

So give! Explain it to me like I'm in kindergarten. Make that second grade. I have some skills.

A typical cat macro image.Lolcats are images combining photographs of animals, most frequently cats, with a subjectively humorous and idiosyncratic caption in broken English referred to as Kitty Pidgin[1], Kitteh, or lolspeak. The meme originated in the 4chan imageboards as the Caturday internet phenomenon.[2] The name "lolcat" is a compound word of "lol" and "cat".[3][4] The phenomenon is also referred to as cat macros.[5] Lolcats are created for photo sharing imageboards and other internet forums. Lolcats are similar to other anthropomorphic animal-based image macros such as the O RLY? owl,[6] and the term is often used as a catchall for images of the same genre which may or may not feature cats.

The term lolcat gained national attention in the United States when it was covered by Time magazine,[7] which wrote that non-commercialized phenomena of the sort are increasingly rare, stating that lolcats have "a distinctly old-school, early 1990s, Usenet feel to [them]." The superimposed text is assumed to be uttered by the cat in the photograph. There are parallels between the language used in lolcats and baby talk, which owners of cats often use when talking to them.

Wet food is not spoiling your cat, it is actually better for her than dry food is. Dry food has no water content and is high in carbohydrates which can lead to diabetes, obesity and can contribute to dehydration because of the lack of water content. Dont forget, she is still a young cat with lots of energy. I would suggest playing with her every day, she sounds like she is bored, and lacks the mental and physical stimulation she needs. If you play with her in the evening she will be tired and sleep at night. Also, brush her every day. Most cats love to be brushed, and it is a show of affection from you. If she is not spayed, then I would suggest getting her spayed. That alone could be the problem with the night time behavior. If she is spayed, then she is just not getting enough playtime. I have a cat blog with more info if you are interested.

It was just a clever lolcat from one of the many sites. I saw it on icanhascheezburger.com. Someone saw the picture of the cat poking its head out of the hole in the ceiling and thought of God watching over us kids. It was actually captioned "Ceiling Cat is watching you masturbate." There is an accompanying lolcat with a surprised looking cat saying "OMG Ceiling Cat is watching me masturbate?!"

I don't know if the original intent was for Ceiling Cat to be God, but you know how these things get out of control.
