There is some stuff you can get at the pet store and it is called STOP BLEED and you mix it up and it will stop the bleeding. I hope this will help.

I agree... get the "quik stop" powder for future nail trimmings. If you don't have flour or baking powder... Pepper has worked well for me in the past. There really isn't a need to go to the vet, as the nail will stop bleeding and be as if nothing happened.

Make sure to have styptic powder in the future. You can use flower but it wont be as effective as bakeing soda. Place that on there with some pressure and alow it to clott. Then give your pup a treat to keep her busy and not licking at it. The nail will naturally stop bleeding on its own and she will not bleed to death either if you cant get it to stop right away. Good luck and Happy New Years

If you had a styptic pencil all would be well. If not, talcum powder will help. Pack it on the nail and distract her for a while til it clots. Good luck. Next time, get a styptic pencil before you start. available in most pet supply stores. Lots of people cut their dogs nails and they bleed, accidentally. Especially if the dog struggles at all or if the nails are dark and it is hard to see the quick. It can be frightening, but is usually not serious. Happy New Year.

Dip it in flour or syptic powder. That will clot it so that it stops.
