I am over 80 years old. I never heard of this rapture until recently. I do not consider it an important issue. There are so many other things I am working on. I try to help the less fortunate. I drive senior citizens to the grocery store in my car, every week. I also drive many for medical appointments. I am a volunteer tutor in math and science at a school for adults, who are working toward their GED. I am too old and too sick to pull off any burglaries, or chase women. Prayer has always been a big thing in my life.

As to the manner of Christ's coming there can be no doubt. It will no be hidden from the eyes of men. He will be seen by those living on earth. "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." Titus 2:13 The Bible emphasizes this truth that the Lord will appear openly when He comes. Col 3:4; 1 John 2:28; 1 Pet 1:7; 2 Tim 4:1; 1 Pet 5:4; 1 John 3:2; 1 Tim 6:14; Matt 24:30,31; Acts 1:9-11; Rev 1:7; 1 Thess 4:16; Matt 24:27; 1 Cor 15:51-53. Jesus looked ahead through the centuries and knew that some would be deceived as to the manner of His coming. Therefore, He uttered this warning, "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that ,if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before, Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go no forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not." Matt 24:23-26. Since we know the manner of His coming we can look for Him. "Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." Heb 9:28.

I'll be 50 in about a month. As long as I was following the teachings of the church I thought the rapture was going to happen at any moment.
I woke up one day and started reading the Scriptures with understanding and realized that the rapture was a myth. It is not a biblical teaching. Google Margaret McDonald, and see where this myth was born.

Well I used to think that I would be in the rapture but as time goes on it looks like it might not happen. But the important thing is that we make it to heaven. The year 2012 looks like it will be a very interesting time so keep looking up it might happen yet!

I am still of the opinion that it will happen in my lifetime and I have known the Lord for over 35 yrs. It WILL happen, whether or not before I die doesn't really matter as I am covered either way.
Its nice to have that sense of security and assurance.
