academic classes in navy basic?

what kind of classes do the recruits take while in basic?
should i study up on naval history now- or is this a subject that i shouldnt worry too much about?

The classes that you take, the classroom part of basic, are mainly basic seamanship i.e how to stand watch, how to fight a fire aboard ship.

don't worry about it. your biggest challenge will be staying AWAKE during the classes.

Your recruiter should give you a knowledge book of some kind with any information your going to need.
