Using Lavender Oil is a winner when it comes to getting rid of your dogs fleas.
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Things You'll Need
600ml warm water
2 drops pure lavender essential oil
2 drops pure cedarwood essential oil
Steps
1Step OneSwish the essential oils around well to dispense them in the water.
2Step TwoTake a dog brush and soak the bristles in the solution. Then brush the dog through.
3Step ThreeAlternative, soak a piece of disposable cloth in the solution and rub it over the coat.
4Step FourMake sure to avoid the face and delicate sections of the underneath area. Continue until the whole coat is covered.

So you don't want to pay £32 for vet treatment - but how much more are you going to spend on shop-bought rubbish? Hundreds possibly, because flea treatments from pet shops and supermarkets don't work! Especially shampoos. And which spot-on have you tried exactly? 'Spot-on' isn't one product, it's a method of application used by many products that are all different - Bob Martin does a spot-on but it's lousy and often makes cats seizure. Frontline is also a spot-on, but is safe and actually works. Different chemicals.

You shouldn't have to pay £32 for proper flea treatment - you can get a three month supply of Frontline from a vets for about £16, and you don't have to take the animal in to get it.

So anyway, just go to a vets for some proper, safe flea treatment. I find it so ironic when people try to avoid buying the expensive vet stuff but then end up spending far more on cheapo stuff that doesn't work!!

I always use Frontline Plus and have never had any issues. I live in a very woody area with lots of fleas and ticks. Is the Frontline expired? Sometimes dogs will get some fleas and ticks while they're outside but the frontline will kill them. The flea or tick just has to come in contact with the dogs skin to die. frontline plus also will kill any eggs on the dogs body. if you keep it on every single month, the fleas will die and so will the ticks.

Only stuff from a vets will work e.g. Advantix, which is a powerful spot on and comes in a box of four months supply. It won't work out as much as you think, and off the top of my head I believe it works out at about £6 a month. It is far better to spend your money on a product that will work, rather than throw it away on a supermarket product which won't. It is also far cheaper to treat the pet than have to keep treating your whole house for fleas, which will happily nest in your carpets, sofas in your skirting boards, bedding etc.

You not only need to treat the dog but to treat the whole environment. IF the dog keeps getting fleas then it means that there are fleas in the house or yard where your dog spends time. Consider using Borax before sweeping and vacuuming the house, and getting Nematodes for the yard

use Frontline drops down the spine

bathe then wait one week before using drops

then the next week use the chewable pill Capstar

then start the whole routine again the next week

remember to dump out the contents of your vacuum cleaner, fleas hide there,

also spray your house

granules are made for lawn that are non toxic to pets

you may have to reapeat this 3-4 times to rid of all since there are the differect stages of flea

good luck

once i did this for about 6 months & finally no fleas & I thought i would never get rid of them
