What would you do if you loved someone very deeply and were very good together, yet it apparently is not to be, yet they did not close the door completely, left it open just a little bit. Would you wait and hope,,,,or would you move on?

While I don't know the circumstances, I can say this much: you have a choice. You can do nothing, and "wait". You can do something, and "move on". You can move on, while still holding out hope.
Whatever you do, Life has a way of changing things. Even if you sit completely still, the world will not stop moving all around you.
In the final analysis, if you really do love someone, you must be prepared to let them go. Realize that they're on their own journey, just as you are on yours.

I'd wait and hope if you were sure that you were made for each other and had no doubt.
If I thought he was right for me but he disagreed, I'd move on because if he's sure, I should be sure too and absolutely sure at that.
You should always be happy with the choices you make and if you wait forever, you'll never have true happiness.

I'm in a very similar situation, however each situation is different and the answer that is correct for me maybe very different for you.
People's emotions are difficult to pre-judge, I'm having lots of fun being friends, and flirting occasionally, and I am still very much in love, for me being friends is working, but depending on you and the other person, you may need to close the dorr firmly and move on.
