It'll start most time. Sometimes after running I will go to start it back up and it sounds like a dead battery. Let it sit for awhile and will start back up and run fine.

There are only about 4 possibilities left with this problem.
1. A bad battery, easiest to check, but that you probably already checked.
2. a battery cable is corroded under the insulation.
3. one or more of the cables is loose.
4. I consider most likely, the ground or negative cable to your engine block from the frame is corroded probably at the frame. The same could be true if your negative cable is loose at the engine block.
The solution is to check all of the connections, be sure they are tight and the metal to metal connection is clean and bright. When you remake those connections, use a compound to prevent corrosion. Good Luck. Jim.

Have you cleaned your battery cables and I mean clean! Just a little corrosion can cause a problem.

sounds to me the timing is off. when its cold in the am does it start up right away or do you have to crank it 3-6 times. could also be hot gas meaning exhaust escaping around where the starter is causing it to heat up. But #1 problem and you wont believe it is the ground. Make sure the ground terminal is clean and tight also the bolts holding the starter switch solenoid it has caused me problems in the past. Luck
