All of this "alleged" evidence was planted there by (the deity of your choice) to test your Faith.
You DO have Faith, don't you?
Nah, me either......

The Bible itself *does not* indicate the earth's age as a mere 6,000 years. (Although there are people who *claim* that it does.) The word 'day' can refer to various time spans. For instance: "The day of my great, grandfather..." could be a span of 95 years...
Also-- When the heavens were created, there was no earth yet, spinning on its axis, so why would the then-current time frame be based on the earth's 24-hour day?

The earth could have been here millions of years but man has been here only 6,000 years. If you go to the British Museum they have a chart of civilisation records. Archeologists have found proof of man going back maximum of 6,000 - 7,000 years. How long does it take for the population to grow, statictians reckon every 150 years the population doubles, if we were to assume man was here 10,000 years ago the population would be 2 million times what it is today. Proof man here only 6,000 years. Work it out yourself.

Radiometric dating proves that the Earth is MUCH older than 6,000 years. Of course fundamentalist Christians will tell you otherwise, because of the stuff in their "BIGG Buk of nollij" (also known as the Bible), because they choose to read the same book over and over again instead of getting an education (i.e. reading more than one piece of literature).

I think that October was not a good month for God to create it in. It is obvious that some people don't live in the same realistic value as others do.
We don't say that the Earth is only 6,000 years old. The Earth was formed only who knows, even the scientist can not agree upon their own theories, some believe in the Young Earth Theory, which is still greater than 6,000 years, and the other group is the Old Earth Theory...which can date back to billions of years?
Look, I am a believer in Creation. I am finite, I will die someday. My mind is simpleton, it is not even able to use its full potential, why? I dunno!
We as humans if we are lucky we live 70 years. Now even the smartest human has gotta go some day, and I am certain that the wisdom and intelligence of a God is somewhat a bit further more advanced than even the culmination of all of humanities greatest thinkers.
Don't get bogged down with questions of such. The answers are not known, they prove absolutely nothing.
So, is there no God if the Earth is older than 6 millenia?
Or maybe God is not limited to time, and his day might be 60million years each. I don't know. I don't care, all I know is this....
The Hebrews, brought forth a concept. There is only One God. The ancient Script pointed to one to come. The newer script declares the one that did come....
If you obey, by faith....you will see that there is a God.
He will reveal Himself to you. First and foremost by the Holy Ghost. The Spirit of God will come to those who are obedient to God's truth, life and way for salvation.
Repent, be baptized into the name of Jesus the Christ, and you will recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Don't get wiped out with genealogies and unnecessary arguings over unknowns.
Try God, and see if He isnot good!
Or are you dead set on trying to prove there is no God?
Either way good luck. I know already.

Seems like a reasonable assumption.
However, I'm not sure your "billions of light years" is accurate. And light could have started emanating before the Earth was formed and not get here until now, so the light and creation are not necessarily tied, except that the Bible claims to know how many days it took to create everything, not just the Earth, so that's got to be a big metaphor. How would anyone know?

The earth is a lot and I mean alot older than what fundumentalist Christians believe, we have hard evidence that the Earth is actually billions of years old. The fundumentalist believe that the earth was created in a seven day week that had 24 hours. WRONG!! Time was never defined at the creation of all things. how could it have been 24 hours if the sun wasn't created until the 3rd day of creation? one day of creation could have been millions or thousands of years old. Besides we have only been following a 24/7 calendar since the Roman Empire. Only uneducated people assume the Earth is only thousands of years old, but hey I am a strong believer in God.
