It is possible but it might be difficult.
Although the usual practice is for a Catholic marriage to be celebrated is in a parish church, the bishop can give permission for the marriage to be celebrated in another suitable place.
The question is how to convince a bishop that the beach is "another suitable place."
Start by talking to your parish priest.

To summarize your answers: The proper answer is, "yes" you can marry a non-Catholic. If you got him baptized then that may actually help, but it isn't a requirement. He will have to agree that your children will be raised Catholic. The Beach Wedding: Sorry the answer is "no". You see the Catholic Church regards marriage as something sacred. Marriage is a sacrament, God will be there granting you graces and blessing. The church sees the proper place for this as the Church. That said, I have known Catholic couples who would get married twice. One ceremony was in the church for the strict Catholic purposes and the second was at an outdoor setting to fulfill the wishes of the couple. You can even make the church wedding the small ceremony and the beach wedding the large ceremony. However don't expect the beach wedding to be conducted by a Catholic priest.

The reason that a Catholic wedding is performed inside a church is because a wedding is a religious service and religious services (Mass) are normally held inside of a church.
The best thing to do is to get married in the church that you will be going to Mass at after you are married (if you do not attend Mass on a regular basis, then why bother with a Catholic wedding?). That way, every time, you go to Mass on Sunday, you will be at the place where your married life began.

Find a priest who is not an old fuddy duddy. Our priest used to regularly celebrate mass on the shore by the lake at his house (sounds weird, but if you had seen how beautiful the area was you'd understand). Once someone asked him how he could celebrate mass there instead of in a church, and he said that any place where followers of Christ gather can be a church, and what better example of God's beauty than by the lake on a warm summer afternoon? He was an older gentleman, too, in his late sixties. If Father Paul would do it, I'm sure you can find someone who was willing to bend the rules a little.
Also, there have been a great many changes to Catholic "rules" that not even today's practicing Catholics know about. Check the website below, it says:
"Someone other than a priest could serve as the official witness to receive the marriage vows. Ordained deacons are allowed to do this in many places. It is also possible that unordained ministers could be authorized to witness the wedding. (Remember that "the spouses, as ministers of Christ's grace, mutually confer upon each other the sacrament of Matrimony by expressing their consent before the Church" [Catechism, #1623.])
In other words, you and your bethrothed are the ministers of your wedding... the officiant is just there to tell everyone what to do. The old rules of a marriage not being recognized by the church no longer apply.
:-) Good luck!

Hey, I am also Catholic and looked into this. You can't have a mass wedding on the beach, to be married Catholic you have to be married in a church. Of course it is up to the bishop of your area, but from my understanding of what my priest said most do not allow wedding outside of the church. However this is a simple question to fix, call you parish and they will be able to give you a sure answer. good luck, it's not easy getting married in the Catholic church!

As far as I am aware, you cannot be married by a catholic priest outside of a church. I thought they don't do that.
As a side note, there is a catholic wedding ceremony and a ceremony + mass - - you can have a catholic ceremony without the mass part if you want.

My friends and I had a big old party on the beach where I lived and man oh man we made a big mess. Oh, you said Mass. Sure! If you can coax a Priest out there why not? I think it would be a great thing. It sure would be beautiful looking, especially if you timed it right with a sunset or sunrise.

you can't... I'm trying to figure out a way lol unless there is a Church and you are inside it and it's on the beach ... Catholic priests won't perform a ceremony out side of the Church. I am going to try to find a retired Catholic priest for my wedding, but then it still won't be recognized by The Church unless it is performed inside the Church.

Catholics who want their marriage recognized by Rom can't marry outside at all. However there are priests who have left the church who will perform as you wish. I think it's like RentaPriest.com or something.
Good Luck!
