I've had minor experience with them, and couldn't really tell the difference once he was all the way inside me.
A friend of mine jokingly suggested they be turned inside...ribbed for HIS pleasure, not hers. LOL!

If the guy thinks they are more stimulating for you, he will get an increase in pleasure also. I don't think the sensation for you will be huge, but you may notice it a bit.
