i met this girl and we both like each other but its still new enough that calling her feels awkward and we cant figure out anything to do together. she lives a half hour from me and i rly want this to work out, what should i do and where do i go from here?

Just be her friend for right now -- there's no rush to be her boyfriend.
The more you talk to her on the phone, the easier it will become and the more you learn about her, the easier it will be to determine whether you want the relationship to go further.

maybe you can set a date to the park..talk a little...and get to know each other. then after a little it wont be so awkard

Half hour is nothing. My bf and I dated for 1 1/2 years and lived 40 minutes away before moving in together. If the distance is a problem take turns going to each other or find a hang out in between both places.

just spend some time together!
get over the awkwardness by getting to know each other. even if you just sit and talk and have coffee, or go for a walk, or go to the movies, or watch tv at home, anything, just get together and hang out! you gotta start somewhere! pick up the phone and call and make plans!

start to im with her or make a list of questions to ask over the phone. Do this a little then ask her what movies she likes (type). Invite her to a movie she would enjoy. Good luck.
