A guy who did is called Howard Storm, an American atheist and artist. In Paris, he suffered a perforated colon, was rushed to hosptial over the weekend (where no Consultant saw him) and clinically died. His wife was present throughout. They had said their last goodbyes because he knew he was dying.
Next thing, he was looking at his sobbing wife and the still shape of his body on the bed. He tried to get his wife's attention, to no avail. He tried to get the attention of the others on the ward. No success. Then he heard a voice from the corridor say, 'Come into the corridor. We can't help you till you come to us.' Eventually he went into the corridor and was met by some 'characters' who ushered him along, promising help. But as they progressed they began to assault him and become abusive. Everything got darker. Well, he's written a whole book about it and I haven't got room, time, or copyright permission to relate it all. The book is called 'My Descent Into Death' published by Clairview.

I have never had a near experience, but I have almost died. I believe what I was thinking was "Wow this is how people die snowmobiling." That is a question I had often wondered, which was answered as my arms was caught in the tread of the machine and it was rolling down with me rolling around and sometimes under it. Luckily I walked away with little more than some bruises and scrapes.
Several of my family members have caught glimpses of the other side as they have been dying though. Whether it has been for days before or just several minutes, they have been surrounded by family members who had already passed on, and they would talk to them. Other people I have talked to know people who had similar experiences too.

I have had two.
The first was when I was a baby I was dead for 6 minutes I don't remember anything.
The second was in a car. I still to this day have no idea how I didn't go over that cliff. I didn't see my life flash before my eyes or a tunnel or anything like that. I just felt like I was witnessing the impossible become possible.
Peace to you.

Yes. I thought I saw my mother. I thought she was holding my hand. Then again, I was just hit by a car, in alot of pain and thinking litterally "I want my mommy". Seems my mind created her for me. Doesn't mean she was actually there, it means she was a hallucination created by trauma.
There is no heaven, hell, god or devil.

I don't think there is confirmation for near death experiences - having watched documentaries dealing with it - likewise, reincarnation - there are no firm conclusions to be drawn from them.
eg. "The Day I Died" while illuminating (There is a 5th Dimension series that deals with it also, in one of their programmes) doesn't give you something firm to go by...
If you want to know what truth is there, with near death experiences, I suggest going to www.figu.org (English Discussion Forum) and use the search engine there. It's also good to look up other questions - you want answers to, there, also.
Whether or not Jesus had a near death experience? Is actually a good question to ask.. Because the real story about the crucifixion, is that he was near death, and taken down to be dead - but was revived via a special technique to do so, that was prepared for in advance.

Well, I have had one that I will remember, but I don't think much of it... I was crossing the road and a car nearly hit me, but I sprinted across the road and it braked, but I jumped in time.... But the thing this, I know this is no joke. I've also had near-life changing experiences, i.e. a time when I was having a tonsil operation, mine was serious, and it affected my breathing, so it had to be done quick or I would've died :'(
I remain thankful to God for saving my life all these times, and all the brave heroes out there like doctors, nurses, surgeons, firefighters, soldiers... But I wish the US Army would pull out of Iraq, Im a muslim and its sad to see them killing other civilians - but those Terrorists are just as bad!! They give islam a bad name :(

My sister did. She coded in the hospital, no heart beat, no respirations. They brought her back and she said she saw nothing. Didn't even know she had died and got brought back.

Life is a near-death experience.
Oh, and the fact that you refer to 'the other-side' shows that you probably haven't had a near death experience, so if you want one try and kill yourself if you think it's so important.
