For those children that dont get allowance i belive they are slaves. They are put to do chores and order by their parents for about 18 years which sound like slavery for me.

ok, so you are clearly a little kid (i'm guessing about 13-14) who is sure that his parents are so controlling and ruining their lives and they would be so much better on their own. Do you have any idea how much it costs to buy you clothes, and food, shelter, school supplies, ridiculously expensive and completely unneccessary video game systems, ipods, cell phones, the list goes on and on. And you want to whine because on top of all the money your parents spend on you, you feel entitled to even MORE money because your parents expect you to help out a little around the house. Do your parents whip you when you are dissobedient? do they chain you, starve you, and cripple you? NO? then you are not a slave. Get a job and buy your own stuff for god's sake!

The point of doing chores as a child is to teach them responisblity and teach them how to live in their own homes and in the real world.
Has nothing to do with them getting paid. I dont pay my kids to do house work. IT's how they pay their rent for living in my house. They can't go out and make money, so we have the understanding, your rental fee is paid by doing how work. to get money they have to do other thing side from their chores.
no slavery here

I hope that this is a joke - who do you think feeds, clothes and puts a roof over your head for those eighteen years? (and never mind all of the emotional support and guidance and worrying on our part).
If you had been one of my boys you would be doing extra "chores" right now now instead of sitting at a computer whining and being ungrateful.

they need to learn that living isn't all play. they're pay for doing simple household chores is having a roof to live under and parents to buy them toys. The parents actually do give them an allowance, they just spend it on what they need and want for them.
work is the key to getting through life. I could not thank my parents more for working my butt off.

Actually, no. It is the parents who are indentured servants, and not only for 18 years.
