please only answer if you are in fact a Jehovah's Witness. and if there are any out there celebrating then they are not JW!!! Oh and we dont celebrate because it is a pagan celebration originating from babylonian times when they'd worship the god ith two faces facing forward and back and the bible clearly states, Exodus 34 v 14 "For you must not prostrate yourself to another god, because Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, he is a jealous God" Joshua 24 v 19 "Then Joshua said to the people: “You are not able to serve Jehovah, for he is a holy God; he is a God exacting exclusive devotion. He will not pardon your revolting and your sins". Deuteronomy 4 v 24 "For Jehovah your God is a consuming fire, a God exacting exclusive devotion"

I have book study tonight.

If I am awake, and that's IF, I might watch the ball drop, just for kicks.

Well my sons ( 13 & 10 ) are spending the night at our friends house. Their son's are 18 & 10 and the father is an elder, he built a tree house and that's where they will be sleeping tonight. (The temp. here at night is about 69/70 F degrees.) My daughter has to clean her room. I just made a few rum cakes which I will share with some friends later, Wish I could share some with my brothers and sisters on here. They smell sooooooo good. My husband will watch T.V. as usual.

Well, I have to work later because I'm in accounting and it's year end and we have to get accounts closed for the fiscal period. (Zzzzzzzzz) Also I am pretty sick but I have to be here - probably for another hour or two. Then I have to go home and REALLY clean and probably throw in a load of laundry. (double Zzzzzzzzzzz) I'm definately not going anywhere - that's for sure - too many ppl drinking and driving!

Sorry to dump a problem on you, but I never celebrate the new year and I'm NOT a member of the Jehovah's Witness religion - but I AM a witness of Jehovah in the biblical sense. I'm a spiritual Israelite, you see. Hope you can get your head and your heart around that.

I find it very difficult to take such your question seriously with all that old wives tale (testament) nonsence. Seriously, believe in today, tomorrow and the future you should not let your mind be brainwashed with such nonsence.

Fasting and praying that The Living God's Word be fuflilled in my life. Not mine ony but for those who hear the call of salvation through the name of Jesus the Christ, who is the image of the Living God.

I am obviously not a JW follower, the Jewish Inscription of JHVH, was substituted for the name of their God.

In order to not offend Him, Jewish historians tell us they removed the vowels from it the name. (So as to not take the name of the Lord God in vain.)

And this is why even unto this day, that no man really knows what vowels go back in there. Some say Jahveh, some say Jehovah...but all I do know is that Yeshua Ameshia came in the Father's name.

And I really was writing because, if Christmas is a pagan holiday....then what is the New Year celebration to you JW's?
Is it not pagan also?

Q: Rhetorical
A: You bet it is!
