at a public school my kid is 'witnessed' to by secret christian teachers

when questioned my kid covers for them...they are not supposed to be indoctrinating my kid, but educating them

I feel if educated, a child can chose if they want religion at all

Probably, however the same ones who say it's wrong to teach children to have the same/similar moral values as ourselves, would probably complain if parents also ignored such things as toilet training.

Scary thought...we all indoctrinate our children...to protect my son from the horrors of my teaching him about Jesus, would you really want to open up your own house to MY assessment of your indoctrination of your kids (assuming you have kids...betting you don't)?

For example, since we're still in the holiday season, would you be happy if lying to kids about Santa Clause was illegal...after all, I can cite peer-reviewed articles that demonstrate the harmful effects ("repercussions") of lying to young children???

I'll admit I'm not familiar with Jesus Camp, perhaps it is reasonable to lable it abuse, I don't know. What I do know is that the idea of that level of government intervention into my right to teach my son what I think he needs to learn is beyond terrifying and it should be the same for anyone that's spent any time looking at what happens when the government takes away the rights of even a small group of people in the name of the greater good!

if they did that they would have to include anything that is taught that has to be believed by faith. that would open up a huge can of worms and many law suits that would ruin the public school system.
