I don't know if I completely understand what it is you want to know. If you are aware of peoples activities when you are asleep then you are really not sound asleep And that is probably because you have a sound distraction in the music being on. If people are active in the sense of complaining about the music being on at night you need to turn it down, shut it off or get a set of headphones so it can't be heard by others.

It is not such a good idea to try and sleep with the music on. If you need it to relax you a hot bath might be a better idea. It indicates to me you are not completely serious about sleep or your circadian clock is miss-set. It is OK to have music or the TV on when you go to bed in order to soothe you but you should have a timer on the player so it shuts off after a short time (after you doze off).
