The Army Weight Control Program is only open to active duty soldiers. They are expected to eat right, exercise religiously, and are weighed and taped for body fat percentage on a regular basis. It is not a place, rather a diet plan. They are paid their regular pay and stay in their regular quarters. It is not a bad idea to mirror your dieting plans with this plan. It is healthy and is designed to lose weight over a period of time, not crash dieting, so that they lose the weight and keep it off. Soldiers can be discharged from the military for being overweight. If you want to check out the program's guidelines google "AR 600-9". It is the Army regulation all about the program.

It is a program for active duty soldiers that have weight issues. It is not open to civilians.

A soldier on the weight management program receives their normal pay and allowances.
