Why shouldnt we follow the Just War Theory?

Then why should we follow it?

Just War Theory....... Hmmm, so you want us to play by the book, make this a more humane war. While the terrorists that we are fighting are targeting women and children and executing and beheading captives.

For the most part we have at least officially followed the Geneva convention. And those of our troops who did not and were found ut have been charged and disciplined.

Just what more would you like us to do? Rubber bullets maybe?

Actually, we have been following the principles of 'jus bello' and 'jus en bello.' (The core elements of just war theory.)

The problem is that people confuse 'just war theory' with their political opinions.
