I'm sure he had an idea that there might be but, that being said, there can still be only one TRUE religion. The scriptures say that "broad is the road leading to destruction and narrow is the road leading to life". We had to put aside all of our hardheaded thinking and search for the truth as if we were searching for gold. When we find it we treat it as something of great value. With God's blessing and our earnest desire we can find it.
When Jesus was hear he did not except the various points of view the people, instead he was here to set matters straight. The purpose of the Bible is for teaching, reproving and setting matters straight. So all the different religions can not all be right, there can be only one.

Of course He knew. He sees the whole of human history in one view so He knew all that would happen and is still to happen before He returns.
That's why His word warns us so much to know the true savior personally, stay close to Him, and hang on for all of your life because it is so very easy to be led astray.

Personally, I don't think Jesus would like it.
He prayed for God to make believers "one," so that tells me he had an inkling that we wouldn't be.
I think denominations are a sin against the body that is meant to be "one" body. That's why I have left denominational ties behind and now attend a non-denominational Christian church.

Mat. 24: 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
I believe he did.

Jesus knew we were human and he was God so he must have known there would be divisions in 2000 years.
