I would suggest you stretch your horizons... take a song that is not considered "pop" by traditional classification (jazz standard, musical theatre standard etc) but still follows a verse/chorus/bridge form- then give it your own pop "signature". Not only will this stetch your ability to sing in a style you are already comfortable with, it will make you really dive into the song and make it your own, and not just a carbon copy of someone else's performance.
Make it beautiful! Remember a great song, is a great song and is timeless- if you like it, go for it :)

I agree Earl D. If you sing the Star Spangled Banner in the key of D-flat (start on A-flat) it gets very vocally intense very fast. Plus, if you're a true soprano, you should be able to pull it, at least by the Oklahoma Arts Institute's audition standards.
You should broaden your musical horizons as well. If you look into some broadway musicals post-1950 some of the music is very hard, and you'll be sure to find some very pop-ish styled music as well. Many great "pop" musicians have done broadway anyway. And, again, one cannot deny the variety on broadway there is today. At the last Tony's ceremony almost all of the awards went to the musical Spring Awakening which has a "rock-ish" sort of style in terms of song...
And, as one person implied above, barely anything in music today beats opera in terms of difficulty.

Lush Life
Misty
Both sung by Ella Fitzgerald at one point - far from easy.
Here is Queen Latifah doing Lush Life and Ella doing Misty.
All the good pop stars can do a standard.
