first of i'm 30 and i have no good luck with women in my area. do you think it's sleezy to look towards web sites for women to meet like in east europe for possible marraige? do you look down or think it's tacky when a guy goes that route?

For economic reasons, many men in the former Soviet Union and other places are delaying marriage. Perfectly wonderful young ladies are using these web sites to find potential spouses.
If you are serious and use the site to meet one special lady, I think you will be successful. Be prepared to travel.

Why not look for dating sites that are a little closer to home? Match.com did very well for me (I met my current wife there), and I hear that eHarmony isn't too bad. But if you're looking for marriage, rather than looking for someone you want to be with (and who wants to be with you), you really should take a close look at your priorities. Marriage is only a potential step you may take AFTER finding the right person. If you just feel a need to be married, then you're in for a big disappointment. And those websites you mentioned don't really let you meet the person or really find out whether you're both compatable, since the distance is too great.
Besides, you're not exactly too old to be in the game. There's plenty of good ones out there in your age bracket.

How about stop rushing it? When it's meant to be, it will happen. Stop trying to hurry up and be happy and figure out what is missing in your life and do something about it. A mail-order bride is just the lazy way out. Then, when it doesn't work, you'll have the opt-out of "it was an internet thing, anyway". Don't set yourself up for failure. Quit looking and you'll probably find it.

Those women come over and then leave, they see you as a meal ticket (or a green card) and nothing more, how about meeting women the regular way? Join a club, don't be afraid to talk to people on the streets, even ask for friends to set you up, anything but those mail order brides, those always end up in a mess.

get some of your guy friends to hook you up with their wife's friends or something creative like that
