If you don't believe in a soul, then what is it that is being reincarnated? Life energies? What would life energies be then if it is something that you would want to be reincarnated, and would you want these energies to revisit this existance as another human being, or wouldn't you want them to visit another existance such as a heavenly one?

Thank you Happy New Year yo...
I said that because atheist were using the word god, the question was about your soul not god. Thank you, I will change the text, and no I was not offended, frustrated because the point of the question was lost as a result.

Well, technically to be atheist means that you don't believe in any gods. but you're right to believe in reincarnation you have to accept the idea of the soul. But, that doesn't mean that I have to believe in any god, even if it would make more sense.
It's best not to worry about such things, I find a good apple pie to be much more satisfying.

because of the fact atheism is only the shortcoming of perception in god/gods, specific, they'd have faith in reincarnation - yet maximum do not, because of the comparable loss of evidence that there is for gods, souls, afterlives often. Dr. Ian Stevenson did some thrilling analyze on reincarnation, yet plenty (study: maximum) different scientists are enormously doubtful approximately it. Make of that what you will. maximum atheists don't have faith in any afterlife, not heaven, hell, or reincarnation. when you die, you're only ineffective. not there from now on. ETA: I forgot touching directly to the Buddhists. specific, they have faith in reincarnation. And cgrover, there isn't something that asserts you come back as an *animal*. the belief is to be reborn as someone. in spite of the reality that i would not suggestions being an otter for a lifetimeor 2 - they seem to consistently have relaxing.

Not all atheists believe in non-existance of a spiritual world, afterlife or supernatural. Spiritual atheists like the taoist or Buddhist certainly believe in afterlife and the supernatural. They simply don't have a concept of a deity.

Apparently you don't know the meaning of the word atheist. An atheist, such as myself, doesn't believe in any sort of deity and/or supernatural being of any kind. So souls, from my point of view, has little or nothing to do with that.

My answer to this question is another question.
Wher in the word "atheist", meaning "No God", do you find the words "No Soul"?
While some atheists believe that there is no soul, it is in no way a universal belief among atheists.
It is certainly possible to believe in reincarnation without believing in a god.

Atheists don't belive in anything
Define Atheist: Latin for Without Theory "A" = WIthout Theory = Theist. So therefore your question is oxymoronic in nautre.

That would be Hinduism or Buddhism... not Atheism...
Since atheists do not believe in a God, who or what exactly would they believe is reincarnating them ?

You DO realize that atheist simply means lack of belief in deities, right?
We can believe in anything else we want to. Including souls.
Edit: Wow, even atheists apparently don't know what atheist means. Scary.
edit 2: No, I'm not Buddhist, I'm Pagan. But I view gods as archetypes, so I'm still an atheist, technically.
