Why did all the homosexuals who answered this question say that they were BORN with homosexual urges and it just came naturally to them?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=As4B66hNp3IQ2Qq_tBWNvLjsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071226203217AAuu1bh

NONE of them said that they were sexually abused by anyone of the same sex. They said that they started to develop homosexual urges around the time one starts puberty. Because of this we can conclude that they were BORN homosexual. And since God supposedly determines all your characteristics, we can only assume that God MADE them homosexual. Am I wrong?

And by the way, being sexually molested by someone of the same sex would probably turn you AGAINST your own gender, no?

Every homosexual person I've ever chatted with about this has told me they are homosexual by choice. A few even admitted they had been gay then changed their minds and chose a heterosexual lifestyle (they are now married with kids). So, who are your or I to say these people are lying or are wrong?

I believe people are born gay. I myself am a homosexual. I have never ever been physically attracted to the female body. I am exclusively attracted to other men.

As far as sexuality being a choice, the only aspect of it that is in fact a choice is the physical act of sex. Sexual orientation isn't something that can be chosen at will. Therefore homosexuality isn't anymore of choice than heterosexuality, because it isn't the physical act of sex itself that determines one's sexual orientation. Sexual orientation is determined by who someone is physically attracted to. Put simply: boy attracted to boy=gay, boy attracted to girl=straight, boy attracted to boy and girl=bi. This is true regardless of whether one acts on their sexual desires. So if someone gets physically aroused by members of their own sex, they are gay or at least bi.

I think a lot of people are bi, and that's why religions made rules against homosexuality. What I believe happened is, a long time ago the authors of the various religious writings decided that homosexuality doesn't fit into the ideal family model, so they decided to make it a sin in order to control peoples behavior. That is one of the main functions of religion. I'm not saying it's all bad, because there are many rules that can help people live safe lives, but I don't agree with all of them of course.

I think that people are capable of great things all by themselves without religion. Maybe someday in the future people won't be so afraid to face life without the belief that everything isn't random and that all is taken care of by some all powerful entity. I think that as time goes by religion will fall away like training wheels on a childs bicycle and humanity will "growup" and be able to stand on its own. I'm not a religous man, but I am not an atheist. I believe that it's very possible that a higher power created us and that humanity isn't just some cosmic accident. But I do not pretend to know exactly how people and the world came to be. Reading the stories of creation in the bible and having a feeling, which some call religious faith, isn't proof of anything. It's OK to have ideas about how the world and all the people in it came to be, but to try to pass off the stories found in the bible as facts is just wishful thinking.

I don't believe that homosexuality is wrong. I was born into this world just like everyone else and I play the hand that I was dealt just like everyone else. I would never try to be anything other than myself, and my sexuality is a big part of who I am. I would never try to be with a woman because I know it would be a lie and I would never mislead any woman that way. I would also never choose to be celibate for life either because I only have one life to live and I deserve to be happy. I would also love to get married to another man someday should that ever become a legal option.

Anti-gay heterosexuals and self-loathing gay and bisexuals have many reasons not to accept homosexuality. Some think it's strange, disgusting, and even contagious (hint: you can't catch it, but you might already have it). Homosexuality also goes against the teachings of just about all religions, which tends to make people closed-minded. Many just don't want to understand it and have no reason to try.

ah the gay question again. I've read the answers and seen the same stuff over and over, like two sides talking past each other, so i'll lay it out for you and in return you can give me best answer lol.

Genetics doesn't seem to play a huge role in homosexuality, not one specifc gene anyway. Maybe a combination. But, what seems to cause homosexuality is the hormones given to the fetus while in the womb affecting the babie's neurochemistry while the brain is forming. I'm not a scientist, but this is what i understand they're figuring out.

So, some peope are going to be born, though not "created", with homosexuality. Religious people are correct when they point out that at the end of the day who you date or have sex with or marry is your choice. They believe that even people with homosexual urges should resist them and be straight in order to please God. The problem is their assumption that there is something wrong with being gay, and that God wants you to avoid it at all costs, including your happiness. I have yet to see that backed up convincingly.

So, homosexuality occurs naturally. Some believe they should live how they naturally are, some believe that people are required by an old book to resist such "natural" feelings because God is against them. It's really just about whether you think the Bible is the Word of God, and whether you think homosexuality is a sin. Personally, i doubt God cares too much. I think we can handle a few gay people in a free society. And if He does care, that's between gay people and God.

Homosexuals, drug addicts, alcoholics, child molesters, etc. etc. they are all drawn to certain behaviors that are not good or morally correct. For a Homosexual to say that God made them that way is correct. Just like some people were made to have addictive behaviors. Though they were born that way does not mean it is right to give in to their deviate urges. Should a child molester be able to molest when the urge hits him? Of course not! The homosexuals need to try to follow Gods will and overcome their shortcomings. God gives us all trials of some sort to overcome and the homosexuals have theirs also.

No one is born homo! It is a practiced abomination. Most of us (humans) have had or will have homosexual thoughts. This is nothing bad or wrong in and of itself. It is only if we indulge those thoughts, that they become sin, and we enter into abomination. Another words, if you do not indulge homosexual 'tendencies', you wont be homosexual. And NO God does no make abominations. We do that all on our own, with maybe a little help from satan.

If they were born that way, then is god's fault and he can not judge them for it. but if they are not born like that and they are not, then god will judge them in there sins. each time they do something that way they choose to sin.

they choose

Because of Adam and Eve's disobedience, we all inherited the sin nature. We are all sinners. Any of us can be homosexuals, murders, fornicators, thieves, adulterers, gossipers, addicts, gluttons or liars. Probably even more than one of those. We all posses this sin nature, which causes us all to be born separated from God and do the things that He has told us not to do for our own good. God did not make us this way. Our disobedience, rebellion and sin nature does.

Jesus came to the earth for the purpose of becoming the blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. Those of us who will choose Him as our Lord and Savior and repent (which means to turn away from sin), will be given the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life with God. When we choose Jesus, God declares us blameless. This is called justification (just as if I’d never sinned) .

God doesn't want anyone to be lost. He loves us so much even though we are born sinners. He has provided Jesus’ sacrifice for us while we are still sinners.

Not choosing Jesus is the only way that we remain separated from God. After choosing Jesus as our Lord and Savior, It is then, our job to stay filled with the Holy Spirit that He has given to Christians (those who have accepted Jesus) for the help we need to obey Him.

God sanctifies us which means He makes us holy. Sanctification is living every day in light of who we are in Christ. It is practiced purity which is a challenge, especially in the culture in which we live.

Prayer, submitting and obedience is what God has ask us to do for our benefit.

Turning our backs on sin and coming to Jesus for love, leadership and forgiveness is the way to have a better life here, a renewed relationship with God and the promise of Heaven. The only way.

The point is truly moot. We are all born with a sin nature.

I heard somewhere that hormone levels are out of whack. I think it is a learned behaviour. Meaning acting on impulses or thoughts.
