They can...those relationships tend to have a better starting foundation than those of people who began dating and getting to know one another at the same time.

Yes and No. It really depends on how both of you are true into the relationship. As i always said, it takes two to clap a hand. Same as love. If both can give way and tolerate and be happy, it will last as long as they like. For come cases why friends-turned-lovers last longer is because both already know what each other like and dislike. So they are more understandable about things and more tolerate. It also depends on feelings ... ppls tend to change with environment. How persistent one believe in love is also important. So yes and no. It really depends on a lot of factors ! I would say, relationship is not easy ...

I've heard that they do, but it hasn't worked for me. My best friend and I tried dating for about a month, and the relationship was kind of boring since we already knew everything about each other. There was nothing to keep the relationship interesting, and by the time it was over neither of us knew if we were even still dating. It also felt kind of like incest because I'd known the guy for years and he'd become almost like a brother to me. So in my experience, no, they don't last longer.

They can. Usually I find them better because the relationship is based off of friendship.
It can suck if you break up though because some people get weird afterwards. Especially if you have a messy break up.
I guess you really have to think it through.

I really believe that being friends first is important. When something difficult for the two of you come up, you have a friendship to lean on. The friendship may just keep your relationship going a lot longer than if you didn't have one. Being lovers and best friends is the best kind of relationship to have.

pretty much, because if you think about it, relationships are based off of friendship. two people who are already friends already know each others likes, dislikes, personalities, emotions, interests, etc. so if they get into a relationship, they already have that first step covered, and can already fully enjoy being a couple together.
