What are some things you would change about your experience? I work at a car dealership and we are trying to find ways to improve our customer's visit. What would you like to have in a waiting room? We have a television & plenty of magazines. Is there anything that stands out at your local dealership when you have your car maintinenced? Please leave any suggestions you may have. Thanks!

Talking to the mechanic directly instead of going through service writers. My car is like a baby to me,I want to know that it's in good hands. We posted ASE certifacations in the waiting room twenty years ago when I worked at a dealership. Many mechanics had customers just by word of mouth.I also like a Window overlooking the shop,so I can watch without interfering. Most mechanics realize that they feel the same way about their own cars.We had quite a few accidents too,Hoist failure, engine fires, black ice in parking lot, etc.

It is clean and there are plants in a window that is sunny. The waiting area is not a tiny cubicle. There is also a bowl of wrapped candies, and they offer coffee or soda, which is there in the room so you don't feel as if you are having them go to too much trouble to bring it to you.
