Fort Dix, NJ was NOT named for a woman! It was named after Major General John Adams Dix, of the War of 1812. With 8 years of servcie in the Army, I have never run across a post named after a woman.

You got your facts all FUBAR. Ft. Dix is not named after a woman. Don't know who told you that mis-information. Probably some dirty lib!

I've been a soldier for 22 years and never knew that. Thanks for the question. It made me think that there is no other named after a woman.
