We value assistants that are competent, hard workers, look ahead, treat the patients well, try to anticipate the dentists needs, punctual, quick, smart, clean and did I mention hard workers?

HELLO,
BASICALLY, ANY COMPETENT ASSISTANT WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND MAKES THE DENTIST'S JOB EASIER TO DO IS A FINE ASSET.
WHAT MAKES THE ASSISTANT BAD IS IF THEIR "HELP" MAKES THE DENTIST'S JOB TAKE LONGER, THEN THEY'RE A LIABILITY.

assistant should know the basics of dentistry, and eager to help and anticipate what the dentist needs. they should be able to know sterilization procedures,

and most of all, have to be friendly and smile, and have a rapport with the patients so they don't get nervous. you want the patients to relax, be comfortable as much as possible, and enjoy being at the dentist so later on they will repeat visit instead of dread going to the dentist.
