I think you must mean the Aussie adventurer Alby Mangels.
He often had women along with him on his adventures.
Malcolm Douglas was usually alone.

May be it was Malcolm Douglas. He used to do a lot of shows and has a wild life sanctuary in Broome western Australia. A true blue Wild life warrior. It's a long time since I saw him on TV and I'm not sure about the wife

There was Steve Irwin also known as "The Crocodile Hunter" who was sadly killed by a Stingray a while back. His show took him all over Australia and to other parts of the world.
