Catherine maiden name was Matthews. They were born around 1808. They had 8 children that I know of. The last I knew they were in Staffordshire. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me discover more about them like there parents and siblings. I would love to find their head stones and possibly get a pic of them. I know that some of the family lived in New Zealand too. I know that the last name there were Young and Pearson. I have a picture of the store they owned.
Some day I will be able to go England and Step where my ancestors stepped. Anyway,I know 2 of the children (James & Enoch) came to America in 1871. They migrated to Plymouth Pa. Pearson could have been spelled Pierson too.
Any information would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Were they both born in Staffordshire, I have so far been unable to find anything that might be useful to you, but I don't give up to easily. There's just one more thing for you to clarify, were James and Enoch, Williams brothers or Catherine's. If you could edit your question and give the information that would really help.

Find a time when you will have a couple weeks to search and then go to Ancestry.com and sign-up for a two week free trial. Then you can search for your ancestors.

You will be surprised that there are many people with the same name, but be sure to look in the area and surrounding areas. Having an approx. birth year will help but look at the years on both sides of that date too. Also, don't use Exact spelling (check box) at first as I've found many different ones for our family.

Happy searching.

Do you know where they were in Staffordshire?

I've done a search on http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl and I've found two Enoch Pearsons born in Staffs in the right kind of time frame, one in Walsall in 1842, one in Dudley in 1843. FreeCen isn't much help, as they don't seem to have much on Staffs for that period.

It might be worth putting a look-up request in the Staffordshire section of http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl and seeing if anyone there with access to the census can find them.

Good luck, and I'll see if I can find anything else.

There is a William and Catherine Pearson in the 1841 census in Walsall, Staffordshire. They are both about 30 years old and have several children. The page in nearly unreadable. Could this be the couple?

i for my section would not wait to capture a glimpse of William & Catherines wedding ceremony. i think of they'd have an prolonged & chuffed marriage as long because of the fact the Queen minds her very own business enterprise & remains out of the marriage.
