I can't be bothered with it all. Was looking forward to it all day, but got text from my boyfriend saying that he can't make it. Him and i haven't been getting on too well recently. I think he's basically got a better offer for tonight. My mates had asked me out, but i said no as i had intended spending it with him. They've booked a table etc and got tickets for a club in town so i can't meet up with them. I'll be sitting in my flat on my own. I'm depressed and upset about this. Soz for moaning :-(

Aw, sorry to hear this, poor you. It sounds as if its the personal circumstances that get in the way of you enjoying the New Year celebrations, rather than the idea of a New Year party.

I can sympathise, on my own this year too, recently ended a relationship and quite like the thought of a peaceful evening with my cats - but at the same time, its good to be somewhere special at this time of year.

Seriously though - I think your boyfirend has problems. To do that once is bad but to do it twice is out of order. He sounds controlling - he hasn't given you time to arrange anything else.

I think you should seriously consider dumping him and find yourself a considerate man who is more secure and who wants to be with you.

Are you sure you can't go out with your mates? If not, I hope that you'll have as nice an evening as possible. Make a resolution that next year will be very different!!!

I even have been there - it is not a great New 12 months here in Scotland - the climate has spoke of as a halt to all of the celebrations in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Have a chuffed New 12 months - a minimum of you may watch for waking up with out hangover day after today - a extra suited thank you to usher in a 12 months besides. I as quickly as delivered interior the bells writing a promoting and marketing project with 2 colleagues - I enjoyed being sober as quickly as I drove them domicile and guffawing on the state of the revellers!!!

Well, tonight here (New Year's Eve) I'm going to be sitting home with my two girls. My boyfriend's father died yesterday so he is all the way in South Carolina and I'm in Vermont. This was going to be a big party night for us and our first New Year's.
Call your mates back up and see if the invite is still open, if not just do a little Pub hopping on your own.
