There is this girl I work with who I want to ask out on a date but we leave at different times and there is never a chance for me to ask her out. I have her phone number I wanted to call her and ask but she is sick with bronchitis so would a text message be an okay way to ask her out on a first date?

If you can't do it in person, do it over the phone. It's too impersonal to ask in a text.

why don't you text her and see if she needs anything since she is sick and tell her you hope she feels better etc and then when she is better call her and ask her out. I bet she'd jump at the chance to go out with the sweet and considerate guy who helped her out when she was sick.

yeah i think its fine. if it were me i wouldnt mind at all.
some people think its too tacky or impersonal, etc, but its like.. people text all the time so why should this be that different.

Absolutely YES...this is a totally modern world that we live in...You would text her to just say "Hi" right??? Texting is fun, especially when they are "Unlimited".
