i have read the bible several times....due to common sense and the help of other books.....i believe in a higher power or ''god'' ....but with the way my mind works i cant follow most of the bible...in fact i dont believe that jesus ever existed..(please read more before you judge me,which so many of you are quick to do)...i have a theroy that jesus was manifested as a public icon for the masses to focus on ....whether or not he did exist does not take away from the lessons people can learn from what is written about him....
i also cant live my life by the bible....too many authors to be correct...and alot of it is bad information or just plain not true.
i know alot of you are thinking im probably going to hell...but really?....you think so?....do you really have the gaul to cast me to hell just because i dont follow what man made books tell me to follow.....is it so wrong that i believe in god and i live my life as a good person and dont carry the title of a conformed religion?....

So you've invented your very own religion. Get a few mugs to agree with you and you'll never have to work again...

There are many spirits in the world and many lies to believe in.

Deep down inside, if you are honest with yourself, you know Jesus is and that hell exists.

Decide.

I was the same as you not so long ago. I was searching and I knew there was "something" about the Bible. I read it through about 10 times and got about the same out of it as if I'd just read it once. What's the deal?

Ok - here's the deal. No one gets anything out of the Bible without the direct intercession of the Holy Spirit upon them. If you are not in a place to "believe" what you are reading then it's just an exploded dictionary. Don't go there - it was not written for a novel or a beddy-by book.
This is the Word of God that goes so deep and so far past what your (and my) puny little mind can conceive.........
Why do you think that pastors stay in Bible study for their entire lives? You'd think they would have "gotten it" after 20 or 30 years.
Until you come to a place of ASKING God for the Truth - just use it for a door stop.

Of course it's not wrong. Who told you it was? As far as I can see , there are more and more people living their lives this way these days. There are a lot of people that choose not to conform to any religion, or to take parts from several, or even make up their own. This is your life, and the most important thing is that you are happy and accepting of yourself whatever you choose to believe. And for those who say you will be cast to hell, what the hell do they know?

It sounds like you have a better grasp of your beliefs than most do. It is not for me to decide if your beliefs are right or wrong...actually in my mind no ones belief is right or wrong...they are simply what they believe. So congrats to you for knowing where you stand...but don't ever stop searching for answers.
