I was just looking at my D50 and noticed it has 9991 shutter reflexes. This might be stupid, but I was thinking about making the 10,000th image...special. Is that creepy? I dont really care, but what do you think the 10,000th image should be of. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Dr. Sam: I think that would cause a rip in time, which would somehow tie into Vince M's answer, leading to all the computers shutting down and the world ceasing in its rotation, leading to end of life as we know it.

I might give it a try.

Photograph an artistic nude of your partner.

It is not illegal to take artistic nudes of your girlfriend or whatever.

Okay. I'm up for this.

Something special? Hmmm ... (rumages around in his photo idea drawer). No, that's not it (more rumaging). Here's something.

Take a picture of yourself, you choose how it will be, but I would suggest a fairly simple background visually, but not plain. Then use photo mosiac software and the other 9,999 images to make the final image. You could do it thematically:

1. Make only the background out of a photomosiac. It is is a picture of you holding a camera, you are making the statement 'My world is filled with pictures!', or some such.

2. Make the image of yourself a photo mosiac and leave the background untouched. This would mean something, I'm sure, to those who think things have to mean something. Ask your therapist. Better yet, show it to them and ask what they see. Kinda turn the Rorschache thing around on them.

3. Make the whole thing a photo mosiac and look up a particularly opaque art criticism. Plagarise it and then add the opening phrase 'Do you think this picture ... Post the picture somewhere and put your 'question' here in Y!A (don't forget the question mark or you will be reported to Y!A for not asking a question). Count how many questions like 'How do you get pictures to look like this?', 'Whats pictures that look this called?', etc. Give 10 points to the first answerer who tells you what they think of the picture and that your question is whack.

Just suggesting.

This is a MAJOR life decision. It would be absolutely tragic to pick the wrong subjsect for your 10,000th image. If you choose wrong, you will NEVER have the opportunity to do it again!

You could, on the one hand, learn to live with that tragic mistake. On the other hand, you could freeze up and be permanantly stalled until you come up with exactly the right choice. Your equipment could gather dust until the day you die, waiting for you to make up your mind. Your techlologies could become obsolete by the time you come up with a decision.

The ice caps could melt and coastal ranges flooded; the sun could burn off all it's nuclear fuels and cool off; the universe cold implode and begin anew; God, himself could grow old and die while you think about that most appropriate image.

Or, ...

You could take a picture of someone obsessed with some "magic," round number.

Or, ...

You could take a picture of a pretty flower.

Find someone whose car has 9,991 miles on it and hook up so you can take a picture of the odometer as it turns 10,000 miles.

There are some really great suggestions here, but I think Perki has got the best one! I'm laughing my butt off. Of course, that would only be funny to your Yahoo! buddies and maybe it would not mean a thing to the others in your life.
