I couldn't love someone and not talk to them frequently. My fiance is in his last year of school an hour and a half from where I live. We have weekends together, but during the week we call at least once a day.

Of course you can. Love isn't fully based on commuinication. Even though it plays a big role, everyone needs their space every now and then at least I know I do, but if the whole not talking thing goes on for a week then I'd start to get worried.
And I'm sure someone would think of their lover in between the times they don't talk. After all, they are your lover....

I almost never call my boyfriend, but it's not because I don't love him, I'm usually busy, but he calls me at least once a day...Love has nothing to do with phone calls.

when someone loves they want to talk to you every chance they get. when someone doesnt call as often its not love. they probably only lust after u. i had to really tell myself this because i was trying to rationalize the same thing. thinking that they are just too busy. we like to do this because we dont want to believe that they really are a creep who could care less. the truth of the matter is if they really cared theyd call everyday even if it was once a day. id like to recommend reading "He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys " by Greg Behrendt (Author), Liz Tuccillo (Author)

after reading this you will learn better than to make excuses for men and know what the reality of your situations are. good luck :)

Yes. Love is not about how often you call, love is about how you feel.

If it's a period of months, forget about it. The only time I fell in love and thought it was reciprocated, she couldn't call me but once a month, and after three months it became even longer (up to six months!).
But back to your problem.
If you two are just getting started, every day seems to be more usual, but if it's once every three days or so, I don't think anything is wrong with that. It sure lets you know how you feel about your special someone, doesn't it? It could be that he's testing you, or maybe it's his first time and he doesn't know what your expectations are. You might want to discuss with him your feelings and concerns so at least you both can know where the other stands.

No human being can go days without calling someone they really love. If they start making excuses about why they are not around, they don't really love you. Plain and simple.

Ice, if someone is in love, there are not enough mins. in the day, to see, or be with them. The phone just won't do. But some times you have to use one. Good luck.

Just because I failed call or keep in consistent communication with them doesn't mean love has fallen out. It could be that I was apparently busy with something from work/school/etc or I'm entirely exhausted and do not feel on venting irritation on the person I love for fear of ruining anything. And yes I always think of them in between :).
