I suspect that if you are found to be aiding and abetting the actions of criminals, that it is very likely you could be convicted and sentenced to prison.

Not a very bright thing to do, Erudite. But then again, nobody here has ever accused you of being particularly bright . . .

No.

If they are AWOL long enough, they get listed as a deserter. That is the same as a felony and you will be guilty of aiding and abetting a felon.

If you really want to help them, talk them into returning to duty.

No, I think your time might be spent better reading up on the Stolen Valor Act of 2005, yes it applies to you.

I would like the people that believe offering food and funds to people that have gone AWOL is wrong to cite the law that states it is illegal to offer anyone food or funds! Otherwise just let it go and stop telling others it's illegal and perpetuating lies to make your position seem credible!

Since going awol, or UA for over 30 days is a criminal act you would be aiding a fugitive.

Aiding a fugitive is a criminal act.

Sure, help them with their felony.
Give money and food...thats funny, you can just give them a discount at the Big Boy....and some free lemon juice.

I work with deserters now, all have sob stories, tell them to turn themselves in.
