It would really be a help to know how long your relationship was and whether you were committed; what caused the breakup. However, in general terms, I would guess she is the one who broke it off. Has it been long enough for you to have gone through the process of accepting that it's over? You have to come to a point where you analyze what went wrong and realize that you wouldn't really want to be with someone who didn't want to be in the relationship. You are holding on to what you wish the relationship could have been, not what it ultimately had become. Then you can put it in the "Memories" file and move on. You can't bring back the past but the future is wide open to new possibilities. Get back in the social scene and move slowly so that you will be more apt to make better choices next time.

If you anything like me...I find I need something to obsess on constantly. I try like hell to forget about certain people and relationships with them, but I just keep dwelling on it. Sometimes for years. lol I usually tend to make myself stay away from that person or anything having to do with that person for awhile before I can let it go.

When you really love someone they are hard to get over. I held on to the thought of someone for 11 years and I was married to someone else. It's tough and honestly you may never be able to let it go but you will have to move forward for yourself.
