Because women like to feel protected by the guys are with. Some women don't feel that way with a man who isn't intimidating, by height or otherwise.

i've never thought 5'7" as short as I'm the same height and people say I'm tall...i like short guys with attitude but it takes a real woman to handle them.. x

I think plenty of women would be totally satisfied with a kind, loving, caring man who was 5'7"! I would be. I've dated lots of who considered themselves "short," and the only thing that ever bothers me is when they tell me that they like me just because I'm "short too"! Oh, and one fellow asked me not to wear high heels, that sort of bothered me because even with my tallest heels, he still had an inch on me... and I love my high heels. :)

you have to look at all the other answers, but trust me you have it whether better than me, i'm 5'3". 5'7" is average me on the otherhand is short

The movies. In the 80's, Michael J.Fox was 5'7". Okay, maybe he was 5'8".
That was then. Now there is a little bit different stereo type.
Still, when you meet the one, you'll forget about this hopefully.

5'7" is not short. Is not about size that women look for. We usually like sweet, nice and understand us. Sometime we don't know what kind of person you are if you don't show it. So try somethings new.

First off, you're not that short. I know guys who are 5 foot, but hopefully haven't hit their growth spurt yet.
But I think girls prefer guys who are taller because they want a feeling of protection (even if the tall guy may run away screaming like a sissy when danger comes...you never know). It all depends on what girls are attracted to. I really don't want to date guys that are shorter than me...I can't give a concrete reason except that that's what I'm attracted to.

My boyfriend is 5'8" so you know... I don't mind lol...
You're not THAT short, and a lot of girls (including me) don't like them too tall anyway.

im a girl and im 5'7" your not that short
but as a girl i like taller guys because i want someone who i can look up to and not have to lean down to kiss. someone who can put his arms around me and make me feel safe. idk. i just like taller guys because its nice.
