Being deployed and having to say goodbye to my family it meant a lot to hear them say how proud they were of me. That meant more to me than anything else ever has. Just tell him you love him and how proud you are of him. Let him know you will think of him everyday and keep in contact with him. A call home, email, or letter from family and friends help a lot. I know this is easier said than done but try not to worry your head off. It isnt bad over here like it used to be. Despite what the media says things arnt so bad over here. Boring and monotonous but not bad. He will be back before you know it. It goes by fast. I have been here for 15 months and I leave in 3 days. Now that it is over it flew by. He will also get 2 weeks leave to come home sometime during his deployment. If you have any questions what so ever just email me.

Wow, thats tough. Just stay positive! Never say good bye. Give him the biggest kiss and cuddle and say "see ya later son".
Think about it. Sure you hear about ppl loosing there loved ones but thats cos they dont bother telling us about the ones who arrive back safely!
If you cant stay positive for yourself, then be for his sake, Im sure he needs you at the moment!
You have a son to be proud of ;0)

Be proud and support him as best as you can. Support from home goes a long way to giving soldiers confidence.
*Edit* Why is this in Singles & Dating?

Tell him everything you always wanted to tell him, how proud you are off him, say you didn't want him too go. Tell him you love him. No regrets, try and stop him from going

i am sure that he knows how much you love him. so be proud of him ... hug him and tell him that you love him and we are all proud of him but especially you. i cant imagine the fear you are going through. i am a mom of 4 and my nephew is signing up for the military. scary but we are all praying for your son.
