First of all you should have looked at the small print. Places like that just gouge you. I bought all my furniture at garage sales for @ $150 for everything (except the mattress). And that's for a 2 bedroom house. There is no reason for you to pay to rent furniture. If you just go to garage sales or 2nd hand furniture stores you would have had it all paid off long ago and saved yourself lots of $.

why buy? have you ever heard of freecycle? take back what you have if you really cannot afford it, no sense in getting calls every week for a payment when you can get what you want or close to what you want for FREE! just go to freecycle.org, sign up for a group in your area, and then put in a post/request for what you want, 90% of the time you will get it, I am registered with the group in my area, and I have gotten alot of nice things for free, try it, you might like it, I do!

I have rented from them before and it is not cheap at all. All you need to do is call them up and say you want to return the furniture, and they will schedule a time to come pick them up. You will not have to pay anything more and you will be under no further obligation. Once you return the furniture, go to www.freecycle.org. It is a website where people list things they do not want and give it away FREE. You can also request items, such as a couch, futon, etc. and people will email you letting you know if they have something. It's great. I use it all the time. the best thing is, IT'S FREE!!!

Check out Craig's List and see if you can't find something nice. I've gotten great sofas, chairs and dining sets for my kids on there. In fact, my son got some gorgeous Thomasville furniture that a guy couldn't afford to move when he got divorced.
Rentacenter is just way too expensive. You can do really well just scoping out the local thrift stores and checking out the classifieds. $3000/year is pretty stiff on any budget.

Return it, and go to Goodwill, etc.
Sniff all upholstery, pillows, etc before purchase.
Do NOT buy a used mattress.
