Looking to find as much information as I can about my grandfather. Born in Scotland around 1873, probably in or around Glasgow. Any ideas where I can start?

You may find this link helpful,
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/
although as far as I'm aware its a pay per membership site. I would also suggest www.ancestry.co.uk you may find some information on there, and lastly a totally free site www.familysearch.org it's excellent, hope this helps.

Hit the public library, it may have Ancestory.com installed on line there. Then go to the immigration lists and Scottish Census data lists. You should be able to find him there. One item of note. The spellings in Scotland didn't necessarily translate to what is used here in the States. Often immigration officials at Ellis Island and other points would change names or change the spelling of names. This can be confusing. You might try to find out roughly where and when he arrived in the States or when your father arrived. Check on the ship registary for anyone that matches the age of the immigrant. Since you have rough geographical area as to where they came from, you can use this information to help weed out other persons. From there you can trace names using Ancestory. com and the U.S. Census data to get to you. Another option is since your ancestor is from Scotland, he is probably associated with a family or clan from there. The surname is a good start. Check in Scots Kith and Kin or go to electricscotland.com and check the clan and sept lists for where your family might fit in. Once you have this connection, go to the clan genealogist and get their help in this matter. They often have lists and related matters that are not available to the general public and only available for Clan or House members. You might have to join a Clan organization in order to get this help. Most cost about $15-40 per year. If you need help in finding out where this name fits, e-mail me and I can help you look it up and help you out there. This is what I do at Clan tents during the summer.
