This parent has never said that punishment is immoral -- only that the punishment should fit the crime.
In the case of Joe Hovah, it would be positively monstrous to inflict INFINITE punishment (i.e.; Hell) for ANY crime since:
1.) by definition, humans are mortal and limited, and only capable of committing a finite amount of wrongdoing;
and
2.) central to the concept of crime is harm done; and god (again, by definition) cannot possibly be harmed, particularly by the likes of us.

It is more immoral to allow one's children to run amuck; children need boundaries. If they don't get them at home, eventually the courts will impose them on both child and parent. What's worse - being grounded or going to prison?

who said punishment is immoral? do you know what you set your children up for if they have no punishment or discipline? you can go visit them in jail! try not popping their hand when they reach for the hot pan. try letting them run in the street. yep, no punishment is definitely a good idea when it comes to children. that's just a silly question. honestly.

Punishment is not immoral. In fact, If you spare your child from punishment after a wrongdoing, you are but passing the whip to the Police to use it on him later.

Who said punishment was immoral, it is not immoral, crime is immoral. Parents have to discipline their children or they will grow up with no respect for authority or the parents, because children want and need boundaries their minds are not mature enough to make decisions that are good for them.Their is a big difference between punishment and abuse.
