Wow, my wife and I just did this! We bought a comforter from Sears, Ty Pennington, with blues, grays, browns and offwhites in it. I installed a chair rail on the walls of the master bedroom after painting it. The top is a light blue, called "Bubble" from Sherwin Williams paint, SuperCoat. The bottom is called "Gauntlet Gray" It is a bit different than the brown you were looking for, but the white chair rail really sets off the light blue and dark gray. I would use caution if you are painting the whole wall light blue. It looks nice when toned down with the gray, but if we did the whole wall in the Bubble color, it would be overwhelming. Go for something not too bright. On the color strips you get at the stores, dont choose anything from the top two lines (the brightest colors). This should tone it down a little. Good luck!!

First get the bedding/curtains, and then match the paint colors.
I think the following shades are best with chocolate brown:
powder blue
sky blue [ Carolina blue ]
aqua
turquoise

either a teal, or a baby blue. Also be sure that your "chocolate" does not lean to the green side.
Might I suggest a combo using Sherwin Williams colors such as:
Toasty for your Chocolate
Raindrop or Meander Blue for your blue.

Find a pillow or comforter that you like, and use those colors. Theres lots of chocolate and light blue pillows and stuff that you can use to get your colors. Good luck, and have fun! I love decorating. :)
