Where do you place temp license plates on cars? Do you place them where the hard plates go? Or in the rear window? Because I drove up to Ohio and have tinted windows that I believe are past the legal limit in Ohio and makes it hard to see them in the rear window. I ask this because someone I know told me it was illegal to place temp tags on the rear of the car where to permanent tags go. Also I have a laminator... is it legal to laminate the temp tags so they don't get wet and ruined?

It varies by state. For example, California's has to be displayed on the left front corner of the windshield as you look at it.

Ohio's is in the back where the plate goes. Do NOT laminate it.

If they gave you a metal license plate it is a permanent license plate. You will receive the registration and sticker in the mail. Usually in seven to fourteen business days. I also live in PA.

In Ohio, you are supposed to place them where your regular license plates go.
Why on earth would it be illegal to put the tags of a car where they are supposed to go, regardless of if it is temporary or permanent?
It is not illegal to put them there...and you do not need to laminate them.
Some states actually have laws where laminating or having plate covers are illegal. Their logic is that by laminating or using a cover, you could potentially be trying to keep the police from seeing your plate, clearly.

Put it on the back bumper, where the plates go. That is the legal place.

What are all these other people saying? Temporary tags go in the windshield. Front --passenger side, and rear -- driver side (if there are 2). Your tinted windows will just make you more suspectible to getting pulled over.
