for my health to improve, strength to fix my problems, and to help me to continue to go to church. Why aren't my prayers being answered?

Sometimes we dont get healing until we get to heaven. Look at Paul. What a great servant and leader of God he was, yet he suffered physically. He chose to let his health problems be what he boasted about.
Let the Joy of the Lord be your strength. I have had personal trials this year that I never could've imagined (a baby that has vision problems and might end up legally blind), yet I did not get peace from God until I accepted God's Joy in this and all situations. Maybe pray for strength that God guides your through your troubles and problems. Sometimes God's way of fixing things isn't our way. Pray that God's will be done, and that he teaches you to lean on Him more and more, even though sometimes His solution doesn't make sense to us.
And if you want to go to church more, you just need to decide for yourself that you are going to go. There have been countless times that I've set the alarm, and turned it off. The kids woke up 5 times each that night leaving me with three house sleep. So I turned the alarm off, and yet I still woke up in time, so I got up and went. There are a hundred excuses we can make as to why we didn't make it to church. Yet we need to decide to get up and go, no matter what. Above all, in missing church, you're missing out on what God had to minister to you during the week. The messege on Sunday might be the sustainance you needed to get you through your other struggles. Just get up and go. Don't blame God saying he didn't answer your prayers in helping you to go to church. Yes, pray that God help you to go, but make a decision in yourself to get up and go. No matter what.
Good luck, and I pray that God gives you His almighty peace, joy, perseverance, and commitment
In Christ

Aren't they? the healing has already been done - "by his stripes ye were (past tense) healed -- the healing was done on Calvary 2000 years ago and flows as an uninterupted stream, you have to tap into it - how? Are you regularly receiving His Body and Blood authentically and validly consecrated by a priest who can trace his ordination in an unbroken line to Peter? If not, study your history, what did the church do for 1500 years until the protestant movement moved it off its center ( Jesus as known in Holy communion, "behold I am with you always, even to the end of the age") - what problems are you trying to fix? Are you helping someone else with their difficulties? The answer to your difficulties almost always lies in living the christian life, no matter how you "feel" - and what is the essence of following christ? Vicarious sacrifice! To be willing to lay down your own life (desires, finances, or even life itself) to aid others. St. Francis' prayer -... it is in giving, that we receive..
going to worship is an act of will - but where are you going? some place where you have three hymns, a sermon, and an offering?, or a place where Jesus in his real presence is the Host of the party - where you feed upon him in your heart by faith with thanksgiving? or do want some preacher who gives a whoop-de-doo talk? If it's the sermon you're looking for you are going to a church to follow some man, instead of Jesus.
finally, and this takes a lot of thought, the act of asking is itself the answer - you may know the banal little poem about footprints in the sand - it contains a great truth. Now is a really good time to read Lewis' Mere Christianity, and The Screwtape letters - they will make clear for you what I am trying to say to you. actually, picture being held in my lap like a loving father, comforting you and reminding you of my love-
that is the real situation at this very moment - the Kingdom of God is at hand - reach out and place your hand in his - and with your other hand, reach out and lift up someone else.
and lo, there He is, empowering you - above all, get where you can get a transplant of his body, and a transfusion of his blood - Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Episcopal, even Lutheran - someplace where the central act of worship is holy communion - otherwise you are spinning your wheels, and trying to row cross current.

I would ask how do you know your prayers aren't being answered. Sometimes God says no, and at others, He says wait. I will pray that you have strength, and wisdom, and for your health to improve. I pray that you can continue to go to church.

God expects us to put FEET to our Prayers. and Of course Have Faith that He will and can answer our Prayers. He tells Us "We have not because we ask Not" and when we Pray, We are to believe, and Pray in JESUS NAME. Make sure You Exalt His Name when coming to Him...You are opening the door for Him to move on your be-half. Talk about HIS goodness. Talk about His faithfulness. Exalt His name and lift Him Up. You will see His hand Of Blessing Move forward into your life of Victory that He has in store for You. Tell Him right now " Father, you are faithful and worthy Of Praise...I Trust You to work in my Life and answer My Prayers in Jesus' name. Amen.

What is most important is that you believe the prayer is going to be answered if it is God's because God will give is the desires of our hearts as long as we have faith and wait.

Try using the format of the Lord's prayer; Our Father, who art in heaven hollowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven . . . Make note that we should be giving praises to The Father then asking that HIS will be done. In doing this rest assured that if it is God's will your prayers will be answered. God is perfect and has perfect timing. Pray and has faith by waiting in expectancy. Another format is ACTS; “ACTS” refers to the percepts of prayer—the categories of Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. Refer to the link for more information.

JB... I can't say why the answers aren't the ones you seek...or why it takes more time.... from my life experience...I can only understand the days I look back on...but can't do the same on the days to come.

But I want you to know, because you asked for prayer...I would be more than willing to help you there....

And wll be asking the God Most High, the One who guides our steps, and hears our prayers.... that He be for you the comfort you need, to refresh you when you are weary, and to bear you when your strength feels gone.

May the road you travel be straight and narrow... may God give you peace and Grace from above... may He shelter you with a Holy fire and may the day come when you lift your voice high, singing praise.

When you pray you should pray for others first, and for your self last. Your prayers will be answered, but you need to ask for God's Grace to help you to see the answers in the way that he has Given them to you. God be with you and Bless you in 2008 and throughout your life.

Who says that they're not being answered? Maybe the answer is no, i dont know though. How do you know that youre praying the right way? Asking of GOD and praying to GOD are two different things. Praying is glorifying GOD and showing gratitude. Try this, wash your body fully before you pray, get all that dirt off of you. Dont use the bathroom or have sex or even fart until after your prayer. Get on your knees, and then bow your face to the ground while glorifying GOD, like Jesus did. Maybe you're prayer would be accepted. Ask for everything that you want at the end of the prayer.
