Are true christians hated or loved by society? "Woe to you when all men speak well of you for this was how they treated the false prophets" but what about those REALLY good people who are christian and admired by everyone for their character and personality? Was Jesus referring to them?

according to the bible the true Christians are persecuted, killed by a boiling oil, stoned to death, ripped the body apart, peeled alive, beheaded, etc.

True Christians in History have been sought out and persecuted for following God's Law to the letter. True Christianity is not popular.

The Word says "Broad is the road that leads to distruction, and narrow is the way that leads to salvation." So I would look at who you refer to as a Bible leader, and ask yourself: Do they live according to the Law? - IN ALL PRECEPTS- If not I would not follow them. Charisma, Soothsaying, and One World Peace are the tools Satan uses. Jesus said: " Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." Matt. 10:34

Jesus was hated and killed after being tortured for who he was and what he said by the clergy of his day. At John 15:20 Jesus pointed out since they persecuted him they would do the same to his true followers.

In the 19th verse, he noted that the world is fond of its own as most of religions claiming to be Christian are. Jesus and his true followers are no part of this world and when talking to the Roman government pointed out if he had been, his people would have fought for him at his arrest. (John 17:16; 18:36)

So we are hated for our message of God's Kingdom replacing all other governments only. The fact that we obey all other laws of the land except for God's higher laws, should be endearing to them. (Romans 134:1-2) It is our allegiance to God's Kingdom we preach that is so hateful to the world.

If a true believer in Christ lives the way Jesus said live ,most of society doesn't understand them and when we don't understand something most of the time we don't like it.
It takes perseverance on the part of the believer to be able to see through the facade people put on to see they are not liked or appreciated.A true believer will however understand where they came from and how God loved us when we were unlovely.

Jesus added that if they were persecuted for HIS name's sake, they could rejoice for their names were written in heaven. People who have admirable characters and personalities are liked by society so nobody gets persecuted for that. But let them stand up in society and point to Christ, then they'll be in the firing line!

Those who show forth Christ in their lives and live for him DO suffer much ridicule if not open opposition. They are reflecting something of the light of Christ in a sin-darkened world, and the darkness hates the light (John chapter 1).

Whom did you have in mind that "everyone" admired? No one fits that category! Certainly there are some Christians who have received broad support from other Christians - even across denominational lines - but how many Muslims "admire" such Christians?

What Jesus was referring to is the fact that the world will hate Christians for what they stand for. Christians stand for morality, true Christians anyway, and thus the hedonistic world is made to feel guilty or inferior to a Christian who takes "the higher ground." For that reason (and others, for sure), Christians are persecuted.

Example:
A woman may want an abortion of convenience - yet the faithful Christian would call that murder - and the woman a murderer. The woman, and those who rationalize the way she does, will in turn dispise the Christian's stance and even the Christian him/herself.

Most times, the "true" christians aren't normally the most popular people in the world. There's so much evil in the world that most people reject the good word.
