Shane Mosley; fought better fighters, faster.
Don't get me wrong; Arguello fought some good and great fighters, but Mosley has fought the likes of Cotto, Oscar De La Hoya, Vargas, Winky Wright, and Vernon Forrest. Shane only has trouble with guys with a longer reach, and he has the advantage here; 74" to 72".

Arguello was a great champion who fought in a great era but in this particular situation I believe that Sugar Shane Moseley would have the style to beat him. At 135 lbs, Moseley was unbeatable. He was so dominant that it was almost boring to watch his fights. He was just too fast and too elusive for Arguello at that weight. Moseley by TKO in the 13th round.

at 135-140 it is easy to say mosley would outbox arguello. but shane did not have the power of aaron pryor. alexis did not respect anyone who could not hurt him. i could see arguello walking down shane and winning hard fought decision

considering arguello was a slow starter i would have to go with shane and considering in his prime shane was one of the best body punchers in the world.

arguello might beat mosley simply because he was tall and had a great jab. forrest an winky were taller then mosley and both used their jabs to slow down mosley.

In their prime I'd have to go with Sugar Shane.

If they fought at 135, then Arguello would win, but at a heavier weight, then Moseley would win.

Alexis Arguello fought some pretty good fighters, Escalera, Olivares, Ruelas, Pryor, Mancini, Ramirez, etc but the heaviest weight he ever fought at was 140 lbs. Shane is now getting DOWN to 147 and was even fighting as high as 154 . Arguello even fought at 126 lbs early in his career. I believe that if they both could've fought at 140 lbs. which was the weight that Alexis last fought at ( Pryor ) Shane would've outpointed him. Trouble is, Shane jumped from 135 lbs. all the way to 147 and skipped 140.Perhaps at 135 lbs., but I still think that Shane was too fast for him.
