Yes. I also use mind altering coffee , mind altering education at university , mind altering travel sickness tablets, mind altering food and a reasonable amount of mind altering alcohol.Illegal drugs are not the same thing because you are not in control of your own actions and you can have dangerous reactions to them. Good question though. Very good question.

We all reach a stage where this question is asked. For me all religions are same if practised in moderation. The zeal of our so called preachers have made the religion such a dreaded word. Just enjoy the religion to whatever extent you can in day to day life. Rest, you know, what is right and wrong in a society. Listen to your heart. Simply, by changing or critisizing religion, we dont become good people .......

I like this question. Getting AWAY from religion clears your head in a way that has to be similar to getting off some kind of toxin. It's better to cultivate your spirituality by seeking it yourself rather than having people ram their doctrine down your throat.

politic goal is to change mind and vote and live different

religion goal is to alter the mind and basically control behavior or stifle unwanted behavior

most people abuse religion against their fellow man to control and manipulate
