Of course it is!
It makes you feel good to be proud of yourself, doesn't it? Well, everything that makes you feel good or happy or worthwhile is a sin...

Heck no, taking pride in doing your job to your best ability- for yourself, not your employer. Taking pride in writing as well as you can, in gardening, anything. It doesn't have to be competetive, just giving your best shows you have pride and it's not a bad thing in the least.

Linz,
OK - so, come clean? What is the real reason you asked this? What "proud" thing did you do that you would like to share with us that you fear would be a sin? (Meant all in good fun as you know).
Have a safe and Happy New Year!
Gerry :)

Pride is one of the seven deadly sins. That is a list of emotions/behaviors that might lead to sin.
Pride is a sin if/because it leads to sinful behavior.
Pride might make a person continue on a destructive path instead of listening to reason (a drunk continuing to drink, a liar sticking to his/her story, or a President continuing the occupation of a Middle East country).

Wrong? No. "A sin"? Absolutely.
The bible is very clear on this point, and in fact pride, avarice, greed & covetousness (without each of which America, the Free Market system, & the entirety of Western Civilization would collapse) are ALL mortal sins on a biblical par with adultery!

As long as you can keep it in perspective in light of how many acheivements others on the planet have made..of course it would not be a sin.

Depends - you can smile when you've done something well, but, I guess it would depend on whether that "something" caused pain or suffering on others.
Ideally, you should do things to help people out of compassion and love - their is a difference because pride is more "ego" and if you are simply fulfilling your ego then you're really not helping, you're looking to get ahead

Healthy to a point... right?
If you are proud of graduating from college, or providing for your family... you should be, that is aligned with God.
If you are proud of harming someone or it gets in the way of a reasonable life... then it's a problem.
Pride is often the key to separation from God, and that is probably the greatest danger.

Comfortable and confidant in your own skin? - Absolutely NOT.
Pretentious and closed minded to other ways of thinking because of your conviction of how things are? - Absolutely.
(I guess that makes me a Sinner, I hope there's pie in Hell)
